So you think you want to study wine.
You could be an enologist or a viticulturist. Enology/Oenology is the study of wine and winemaking including the chemistry as well as the practical aspects of making wine. Viticulture is the study of the science of growing grapes, including fruit development, varietal characteristics and the study and prevention of pests and diseases. The two are often intertwined within academic departments to give the student the information they need to make wine from vineyard to bottle.
