Is red wine healthy?
Apparently red wine is the Goldilocks of the nutrition world. Too much is not good for you and too little may not give you the benefits that you could be receiving like lower incidence of cardiovascular disease, mortality and type-2 diabetes. The "just right" amount according to a study in the Annals of Internal Medicine is one glass of red wine per night with dinner. Red wine increases your levels of good HDL cholesterol and has unique antioxidants that are hard to get other places. Pairing it with dinner is key as it helps to moderate your post-meal blood sugar spike which is one of the main sources of imflamation, which contributes to everything from diabetes to dementia to heart disease and arthritis. The important thing to note here is drink in moderation along with a healthy meal. Cheers!
