Can you save an open bottle of wine and have it be delicious the next day?

Yes! As we have discussed before oxygen is both good and bad for wine. Extended exposure to oxygen can ruin a bottle of wine. Here are a couple of tricks to help you wine last another day. Your goal is to limit the amount of wine exposed to oxygen. One way to do this is to transfer your leftover wine into a smaller container. For this you can use an empty half bottle of wine. Simply purchase a half bottle at the grocery store, drink it and rinse it well. Pour your leftover wine in the half bottle and close it with a cork or saran wrap to prevent oxygen entry. Next, place the bottle in the fridge. The fridge? Yep, that is the second trick. Due to the cold temperature inside your refrigerator oxygen is not able to inflict the same damage at the same speed as it would if you left the bottle out on your counter. To drink it the next day, take it out of the fridge and let it warm up to room temperature. Cheers!
