VanArnam Vineyards is a family-run, estate-driven winery located on a sun-soaked southern slope in the Rattlesnake Hills AVA of Washington’s Yakima Valley. With panoramic views, a deep connection to the land, and a commitment to honest, hands-on winemaking, VanArnam Vineyards is guided by the vision and craftsmanship of Winemaker and Owner Branden Seymour.
Branden’s winemaking journey is rooted in a lifelong appreciation for agriculture, hard work, and the magic of transforming fruit into something expressive and enduring. Before stepping into ownership and winemaking at VanArnam, Branden spent years learning the complexities of vineyard management, fermentation, and cellar craft. His education came through working directly with Washington growers, collaborating with other winemakers, and refining his own style through trial, experience, and a relentless curiosity about what makes a wine truly site-driven.
Today, VanArnam’s wines reflect Branden’s belief that great wine starts in the vineyard. He focuses on thoughtful, deliberate farming, paying close attention to canopy development, soil health, irrigation timing, and the personality of each block. His winemaking style is intentional and patient—allowing each varietal to develop naturally, without rushing the process. Bordeaux and Rhône varieties form the heart of the portfolio, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Syrah, and small-lot blends that showcase the nuance of the Rattlesnake Hills terroir. Every harvest is handled with care, with Branden overseeing fruit selection, fermentation management, barrel choices, and aging programs to ensure each bottle reflects balance, structure, and a sense of place.
While Branden leads winemaking and vineyard operations, VanArnam Vineyards is truly a multi-generational family effort. His wife, Kaela, manages tasting room operations, hospitality, and guest experience. Her leadership creates the warm, welcoming atmosphere that guests have come to associate with the winery. Kaela has shaped the tasting room into a space that feels inviting and community-centered—where visitors can slow down, savor the wines, and enjoy the magic of Rattlesnake Hills Wine Country.
Their three children are growing up among the vines, learning the rhythms of harvest season, the buzz of bottling days, and the pride that comes with working the land as a family. They are woven into the day-to-day life of the winery, adding to the sense of heritage, continuity, and love that defines the estate.
Branden’s parents also play a meaningful role in the business, supporting both vineyard and hospitality operations. Their involvement strengthens the family’s presence in every corner of the winery, adding to the authentic, community-driven spirit Branden and Kaela have cultivated.
